Ingredients

Core Ingredients:
  • 1 8 oz can refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage pork or turkey
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste
Optional Add-ins:
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell peppers or spinach
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • Crushed red pepper flakes for a kick
  • Swap cheddar with mozzarella pepper jack, or Swiss

Method

Cook the Sausage
  1. Brown the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
Prepare the Baking Dish
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Unroll the crescent dough and press it into the bottom, pinching seams to seal.
Add the Fillings
  1. Layer the cooked sausage evenly over the dough. Add chopped veggies if using. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Pour over the sausage. Sprinkle with cheese.
Bake
  1. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, or until eggs are set and top is golden brown. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Crescent Roll Breakfast Casserole – Helpful Tips

Cooking Tips & Techniques
Use refrigerated crescent dough—press the seams together to form one even layer in the baking dish.
Pre-bake the crescent crust for 5–7 minutes before adding the filling to avoid sogginess.
Brown your breakfast sausage or bacon first to render flavor and remove excess grease before layering.
Beat eggs with milk or half-and-half for a fluffier texture and even bake.
Shred your own cheese (like cheddar, Monterey Jack, or pepper jack) for better melt and richer flavor.
Serving Suggestions
Serve hot out of the oven with fresh fruit, hot sauce, or a dollop of sour cream.
