Ingredients
Method
Assemble the Roll-Ups:
- Use a rolling pin to flatten each bread slice.
- Place one cooked sausage link near the edge of the bread and roll it up tightly.
- Press the seam gently to seal. Repeat with remaining slices.
Make the Custard:
- Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a shallow dish.
Dip and Fry:
- Heat butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
- Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, coating all sides.
- Place roll-ups seam side down in the skillet and cook until golden brown, turning to brown all sides—about 6–8 minutes total.
Coat or Top:
- Mix sugar and cinnamon on a plate. Roll warm roll-ups in the mixture.
- Or, skip the coating and drizzle maple syrup on top instead.
- Serve hot with extra syrup or fruit if desired.
